Washing Dishes A Metaphor for Healing
Emotional healing is like washing dishes. A strange
comparison, yes but an accurate one. Washing dishes removes left
over food from the dinnerware; emotional healing removes pain from
our souls. For both of them, the longer the waste has been there,

April’s Energy Reading

Energy Reading for March,2006
This is the month of March energy reading. I guess better
late than never. With this three card reading, I talk about what
kind of energy we all will be challenged with. So it is not a
personal reading, but for everyone who is in this sector. It is a
heads up of what tests we will all face. Where we are on our
spiritual path and which individual lessons we are working on will
determine in what form the challenges will be presented.
My Mother’s Daughter
The women in the young girls lives become the template for
who they will be as they grow into adulthood. Whether they intends
to or not mothers, grandmothers, aunts–any woman who plays an
important role it the girl’s life will be her teacher and mentor.
It’s the older women’s example that teaches the girl how to deal
with life’s challenges. In this case the old saying, do what I say,
not as I do doesn’t apply.
What Have They Lost?
So called Christian leaders, traditionalists and
conservative talk show hosts continue to stirred up the old
bigotries and unfounded fears in the ignorant. Their message is
that Christianity is under attack therefore they have to fight back
to save their religion. Increasingly they blame secular
progressives for all the troubles and woes in the world.
True Character
People’s true character is revealed when times get tough.
Those who have a confident core will do their best to make the
situation better. By working together with others, they fight
through the uncertainty and fear to find alternatives and options,
which will bring about a positive end result.
February Energy Reading
This reading is not for an individual but the energy
challenges all of us will be dealing with in the month of February.
I will be doing a three card layout. The first card represents how
the past’s influences will affect this month. The second card is
for the new energy that will be available, while the final card will

What are Children?
Children are people too. What a radical concept. But it is a notion that many people have difficulty understanding. Children aren’t possessions. They aren’t cheap labor. They aren’t accessories, nor are they clones of the parents. But more importantly, children are not retirement plans. Children are individuals with their own needs, desires and destinies. Once they enter the world and take their first breath they become independent of their parents.
That Ship has sailed; What’s next?
The war in Iraq is on everyone’s minds. Should we have gone or shouldn’t we? Did Bush lie or didn’t he? With a mastery of dialogue, both sides are throwing verbal rocks at the other; each side accusing and blaming the other for the problems in the country and for the mixed results over seas. Debate and sharing of ideas is wonderful and necessary, however it is a waste of energy and time until it is married to action.

Which side is our Side?
There is no us. There is no them. We are all us. We are all them. Very simple statements, yet the message keeps getting lost in fear and manipulation as small minded people fight to stay in power. When the changes in the social and economic structure changed the balance of power, those who wished to maintain the status quo used ignorance and bigotry to exploit the masses by creating fear of change. Whether it be lifestyle, religion, or cultural background, they reinforce the belief that diversity is evil. Playing on ignorance they maneuver the lesser informed to believe that to accept those who are different…
And Freedom For All
Daphne closed the drawer and looked around the room. There
was so much she wanted to take, but there was so little space. Two
suitcases, her cat Sarah and her dog Maxie were all that were coming
with her. Her sister had taken custody of her two mares, Star and
Moon. They would be safe with her. Later during one of the horse
show tours, she would return them.
Substitute Healers
We all have relationships in our lives, which we can not
effectively work through because it is either not safe or the person
is no longer available. Whether due to fear of further harm, death
or a simple unwillingness to participate in the healing process, it
leaves you unable to finish the emotional or spiritual challenges
before you. In these cases, the universe will provide substitutes
to help you work through the challenge to a healing conclusion.
With the help of these stand-ins you are able to find the root cause
of the emotional or spiritual injury.
Disaster in a Can
Most cat and dog owners have heard stories of how dangerous
over the counter flea meds can be. I heard it but I never thought
it could happen to me. First I was so very careful about checking
for fleas on new cats I brought into the household and mine never
went out. But even with all my precautions, after twenty years of
being a cat caretaker, fleas made their way into my household.
By the Scruff of the Neck
Soon after the new neighbors moved in a black cat appeared on my door step. At the time she was less than a year old and one of many the woman across the street was responsible for. None of her cats were altered and she took no care in preventing litters. The household was in chaos most of the time and the police were frequently called to break up fights between her and her live-in boyfriend. Her children and her cats wandered around the subdivision unsupervised.
So Many Questions
Why isn’t everyone wealthy? With all the prayers and possibilities of life, why are there still people living on the streets in hunger and poverty? Most religions say have faith and all will be provided. So why do prayers go unanswered? Is it because they lack enthusiasm or focus. Or is it something more?
Getting Involved
With the rapid erosion of personal liberties and the increasing power of the religious right, it is time for the Wiccans and Pagans to take back their power both as a group and as individuals. With of the current atmosphere of intolerance, many who follow the Earth-based religions are afraid to come out of the broom closet. They refused to get politically involved because it’s not the spiritual thing to do or because they are frightened of the repercussions. Staying quiet and hiding is what led to the murder of countless Wiccans and Pagans during the Burning Times. By refusing to fight for their rights and going under ground, the Christians were able to hunt them down individually. But the violence and bigotry has not been left in the past; today they do not burn or hang, they use more subtle means to discriminate and harass.
Two Kittens Dead on the Road: Does Anyone Care?

Censorship
Censorship an ugly word, that everyone denies but so many practice in subtle ways. It could be as simple as telling another to shut up or going to the extreme of physically preventing the person from speaking. In either case and on every level in-between, one person or group has imposed their expectations and values on others. By silencing even one voice, not only do you limit the information and wisdom they could share, but also you hinder others’ ability to be comfortable sharing their experience.
My Own Political Party
I’ve decided to start my own political party; it’s going to be called, “I have my own life and can mind my own business; you do the same.” In the past few years more and more people believe that it’s their duty to compel people to conform to the “flock’s” expectations. Speeding
Going home late one night after work, I was singing to the radio and looking forward to four days in my natural habitat. Four days of not having to set the alarm. My time would be my own. It was two am and I had the road to myself when suddenly there were flashing red and blue lights in my rear view mirror. I thought “oh feces"–or something close to that–"now what.” Granted my singing wouldn’t win me any awards, but it didn’t qualify for a ticket either.
Karmic Balancing

To Find a Karmic Guide
Meditate on the flame until you can see inner light and then take a cleansing bath, allowing the candle to burn down. For the next weeks be more aware of the people you meet for through them you will be led to the people and places you need to learn the most.
Justice Rituals
More than protection, justice rituals are for situations which are bigger than the individual or when you want to clear your karma or break karmic ties with another. They are the best way to release the situation to the wisdom of a higher power. However by doing so you also forfeit your control over the end results. By letting go, you allow the best and highest good to determine the outcome. There are many situations both on the personal level and on the grand scale that would benefit from setting aside the ego and allowing Goddess/God to deal with the challenge.
It Becomes What We Say
Where we put our focus is what the universe will bring to us. Recently I realized that my prayer of protection was more of a magnetic for negativity than a shield and that when I sought prosperity the money flowed out as fast as it came in. I simply wasn’t listening to what I was saying or how I was saying it. In my attempts to better my life I was drawing in exactly what I wished to push away.
I Finally Understand
