Help OPERATION CIRCLE CARE
Help OPERATION CIRCLE CARE: Support for Pagan Troops
For the fifth year in a row Circle Sanctuary will be sending pentacles, CDs, incense, copies of CIRCLE Magazine and other items in Yuletide gift packages as spiritual support to Wiccan, Druidic, Heathen, and other Pagan service members stationed overseas and on deployment.
What has always made the Yuletide Care Package program of Operation Circle Care (OCC) so special is its personal touch. Operation Circle Care contents are always made up of personal gifts donated by the Pagan community.
Ways to Help!
(1) SEND US CONTACTS: If you know of Pagans serving overseas or on deployment, please send us their contact info or have them be in touch so that we can send them a care package. Please send us contact info, and if known, path of Paganism practiced, by December 1st to ensure we have time to get a package together before the US Postal Service military overseas shipping deadline.
Email: circle@circlesanctuary.org
Please copy occ@circlesanctuary.org
(2) SEND ITEMS: A list of suggested items to donate can be found at: http://tiny.cc/operationcirclecare. Please contact the coordinators at occ@circlesanctuary.org right away to obtain the address to send donated items to. Please ship donated items so that they arrive by December 1, 2011.
(3) DONATE FUNDS: In addition to contributions of items, funds are needed to help us cover postage, shipping, printing, and other costs related to supporting our Pagan Military members with the Yuletide Care Packages program and other endeavors. It costs us about $13 per Yuletide Care package to ship by priority air mail overseas. We seek to send a package to every Wiccan/Pagan service member deployed overseas who requests one.
Donate On-line: to our Operation Circle Care fund with a credit card at our secure on-line site. Please donate under the “Special Fund Donations” section and click on the donate button under “Operation Circle Care”: www.circlesanctuary.org/donate
Donate By Postal Mail: Send a check or money order, payable to Circle Sanctuary - OCC to: Operation Circle Care, Circle Sanctuary, PO Box 9, Barneveld, WI 53507
(4) NETWORK: Please let others know about Operation Circle Care and its Yuletide Care Packages for Pagan Troops overseas program. Forward this email to others. Post OCC link on social networking sites. Announce ways to help at events. Share the news in other ways. Many Thanks!

Pagan Warrior Radio launches with a Veterans Day Celebration
Pagan Warrior Radio is a new internet radio show serving Pagan veterans and those on active duty in the United States Military, plus their family, friends, and supporters.
Pagan Warrior Radio debuts with a special Veterans Day show on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 8 pm CST on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/witchschool/2011/11/12/pagans-tonight–veterans-day-special.
The first part of the show will be a celebration of Military Pagans and their service. Several Pagan leaders and clergy who do support work with Pagan veterans and troops will be among the special guests on this special Veterans Day Celebration.
During the second part of the show, listeners are invited to call in and share their Veterans Day experiences and tributes to Pagan Warriors, living and dead. In addition, listeners can participate throughout the show through the chat room.
Beginning on November 15, Pagan Warrior Radio will move to its regular weekly time slot on Tuesdays from 9-10 pm CST.
This new weekly internet radio show will be hosted by co-founders Pamela Kelly of Texas and Selena Fox of Wisconsin.
Pamela grew up in a military family and is presently serving as the facilitator (DFGL/Distinctive Faith Group Leader) of the Pagan Circle at Sheppard Air Force Base. Selena, who worked for a short time in a civilian capacity for the office of the US Army Chief of Staff at the Pentagon, has been active in the quest for equal rights for Pagan troops and veterans and their families for more than thirty years. She is senior minister of Circle Sanctuary and director of Circle Sanctuary’s military ministries.
Pagan Warrior Radio is being sponsored and produced by Circle Sanctuary, in partnership with the Pagans Tonight Online Radio network. Circle Sanctuary, one of America’s oldest and largest Wiccan churches, sponsors Pagan Circles at US military installations and on ships in the USA and overseas, including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Korea, and Qatar.
“Pagans have served and are serving in each of the branches of the US Armed Forces. We are creating Pagan Warrior Radio as an additional way to support Pagan veterans and troops and their loved ones, and to be a forum for networking, education, and dialogue. Shows will be a mix of news, information, music, reflections, ideas, and call-in discussion,” says Selena.
Pamela adds: “Pagan Warrior Radio is for Pagans of many paths - Wiccans, Druids, Heathens, Unitarian Universalist Pagans, Pantheists, and others. Upcoming shows will include topics such as the Future of Pagan Military Chaplaincy, forming Pagan Circles at military installations, making portable altars, and more!”

Also known by its original name, Bragg Pope Open Circle, it has been providing ceremonies, education, and other support for Pagans at Fort Bragg since its founding in 2001. Sharing Pagan Stories of 9/11
This is a news release written in entirety by Circle Sanctuary Rep.
This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.
This national tragedy impacted people of many walks of life, ethnicities, national origins, and spiritualities, including Wiccans, Druids, Heathens, and Pagans of other paths.
To aid with the healing and renewal process, and to help collect and preserve Pagan history, I have been in touch by phone and by email with some Pagan survivors of the 9/11 attacks as well as other Pagans impacted by 9/11 to learn about their experiences and perspectives.
In addition, I created a page for sharing support, resources, and Pagan Stories of 9/11 on Facebook.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pagans-Healing-Remembering-911/242330215810330
My friend, Terry Comparetta Wagner, who assisted me with the 9/11 Memorial Ritual last year on September 11 at the Earth Spirituality Festival in Pennsylvania, is working with me in administering this new Facebook Community page. She had an office in the World Trade Center and was on her way to work there when the attacks happened. I am glad she survived and is helping me with this project.
SHARE YOUR STORIES
We invite you to “like” this page & join in the Community Sharing, such as commenting on one or more of the following.
* Where were you on September 11, 2001 when you learned the news of the attacks? What did you do? How did this impact you?
* Were you involved in 9/11 rescue, recovery, clean-up, other helping efforts? Please describe.
* Do you know of Pagans killed in the 9/11 attacks or who died of injuries or diseases sustained as part of responding? Please share their stories.
* What 9/11 rituals, meditations, memorial events were you part of then and/or in the years since?
* What are you doing this year to observe the 10th anniversary of 9/11?
* What resources have you found helpful in the 9/11 healing & renewal process?
River Documentary Airing on Wisconsin Public Television
The documentary “Rhythm of the River” about the Lower Wisconsin River will be shown statewide on Wisconsin Public Television (http://wpt.org) at 7 PM central time on Thursday night, September 8. The project recently premiered in theaters at towns along the river to overflow crowds by the Friends of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway (FLOW). More information including the list of all airings is at http://wptschedule.org/episodes/9200/The-Rhythm-of-the-River.
Selena Fox of Circle Sanctuary was among those appearing in the interfaith part of the film that explored some of the spiritual dimensions of the river. Toward the end of the film, Selena also spoke about the need to celebrate and preserve the river as part of a public celebration of the river in August 2009. This event included an environmental ceremony facilitated by Selena that celebrated the river and those connected with it. Members of the Circle Sanctuary Community also took part in the celebration and ritual.
Watch a preview of the film at http://youtu.be/C4YUZwAmOAU. This preview concludes with am image of the sunset ceremony on the river that Selena facilitated.
It is available on DVD from producer/director Dave Erickson. For more information about the project, call 608-583-3366.

She and some of her group were part of the 2010 Pagan Spirit Gathering Community. Fran was a teacher, scholar, archaeologist, and Egyptologist, and her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched.

America’s first National Pagan natural burial ground
On June 16, 2010, Circle Cemetery became America’s first National Pagan natural burial ground and the first contemporary Green cemetery to be platted and recorded in Wisconsin.
Circle Cemetery is a 20 acre site located at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve, a 200 acre Pagan Nature sanctuary established in 1983 and located near Barneveld, Wisconsin. Circle Cemetery is owned and operated by Circle Sanctuary, a Shamanic Wiccan church that has been serving Pagans worldwide since 1974. Rev. Selena Fox, senior minister of Circle Sanctuary and founder of Circle Cemetery, is the Cemetery’s director.
Circle Cemetery was founded and dedicated as a National Pagan cemetery in 1995 shortly after Circle Sanctuary paid off the mortgage on its land. Circle Cemetery is one of the first contemporary conservation, or “Green,” cemeteries to be established in North America.
For its first fifteen years, Circle Cemetery took the form of an area on a ridge top where cremains were placed and Green funerals were conducted. In 2005, Selena, along with her husband Dr. Dennis Carpenter, Circle Sanctuary church attorney Chip Brown and others in the Circle Sanctuary Community began the legal process of permitting body burials and expanding the size of the cemetery to 20 acres. Circle Sanctuary minister Rev. Nora Cedarwind Young of Washington State assisted with Green cemetery platting research.
In Spring of 2010, Selena, Dennis, and Chip took the expanded cemetery proposal before local government officials through a series of meetings. Circle Cemetery zoning was approved by the Town of Brigham Zoning Committee on April 20, by the Brigham Town Board on May 4, and the Iowa County Zoning and Planning Committee on May 26. On June 15, Circle Cemetery’s plat was approved by the Iowa County Board, and the following day the remaining official signatures were added to the plat and the plat was recorded, completing the process.
A celebration of the establishment of Circle Cemetery as a Pagan natural burial ground will be held as part of this year’s Pagan Spirit Gathering Summer Solstice festivities in Missouri as well at the Solstice Full Moon evening at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve in Wisconsin.

UPHOLD PAGAN RIGHTS at September 12 Celebrating Earth Spirituality Festival
On Saturday, September 12, 2009, the Celebrating Earth Spirituality Festival will be held from 10 am - 6 pm at Stroudtburg Village, an oldtime European-styled hamlet shopping area in Adamstown, Pennsylvania. A schedule of Festival activities and other info is on-line:
http://www.readingpagansandwitches.com/CESFest.htm
The Festival is being sponsored by the Reading Pagans and Witches, a non-profit organization which has been successfully sponsoring Pagan events in the region since its founding in 2004: http://www.readingpagansandwitches.com/about_rpw.htm
The intended purpose of the Celebrating Earth Spirituality Festival is to bring Pagans of many paths together for education, celebration, and community outreach.
However, this Festival is now also becoming a public stand to uphold Pagan rights and religious freedom.
Over the past week, discrimination against this event and prejudice against Paganism and the Craft has surfaced:
* Some of those who operate shops in the venue during times it has been rented by other groups have publicly announced that they will not be open during this event due to their opposition to Paganism. More details have been published in a recent article in a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania newspaper: http://articles.lancasteronline.com/local/4/241820
* Furthermore, a group of Christian pastors opposed to the Festival and Paganism have begun a series of anti-Pagan gatherings and prayer sessions with their congregations: http://www.gatewayprayer.com/religion/. In addition, they plan to show up at the Festival as protesters.
Festival organizers, with the support of the Lady Liberty League and others, are continuing with their plans to holdthe Celebrating Earth Spirituality Festival, and they need your help!
How to Help:
(1) ATTEND: take part in some or all of the Festival. Celebrate Paganism and Pagan religious freedom throughout the day. Be part of a peaceful Pagan presence. Be polite. Dress conservatively. Don’t argue with protesters.
(2) ATTUNE: spiritually connect with the Festival from wherever you are. Send blessings in advance as well as while it is going on. Send blessings of peace, understanding, protection, and success to the Festival, Festival organizers, and Festival participants.
(3) WELL WISHES: email words of support and blessings to the Festival organizers: support@readingpagansandwitches.com
(4) NETWORK: Forward this call to action to e-lists, blogs, websites, and others.
(5) STAY INFORMED: For updates, visit Lady Liberty League on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ladylibertyleag and Facebook.

PAGAN RIGHTS NEWS: McCollum Case Continues!
PAGAN RIGHTS NEWS: McCollum Case Continues!
Rev. Patrick McCollum, Wiccan Elder, Circle Sanctuary minister, and director
of the Lady Liberty League Prison Ministry Task Force, continues to be
engaged in a major legal battle for free religious exercise and equal rights
for Wiccans and other Pagans in California’s state correctional system.
In 2004, Patrick brought a lawsuit against the State of California and
others on behalf of himself and Pagan prison inmates challenging the state’s
“five faith” policy as unconstitutional and in violation of prison religion
law. The five “recognized” faiths in the California correctional system are
Protestant Christianity, Roman Catholicism, Judaism, Native American, and
Islam. Islam and Native American were added as recognized faiths as a
result of battles with the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation (CDCR). Now, Paganism is having its battle with the CDCR!
Over the past five years, Patrick’s case has met with many challenges. Yet
the fight continues as it takes its next step. On July 2, 2009, Plaintiff
Rev. Patrick McCollum and the inmate plaintiffs, who were added to the case
in 2006, filed a notice of appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in
the federal court system in the case known as McCollum, et al. v. California
Department of Corrections, et al.
Rev. McCollum is appealing, among other things, the lower court’s ruling
that Rev. McCollum did not have standing to sue about a discriminatory
hiring policy, which favors five faiths to the exclusion of others, without
any unbiased, neutral justification for the policy. Some of the issues on
appeal will be: (1) whether a job applicant has standing to sue under Title
VII about a discriminatory hiring policy as a violation of equal employment
opportunity; (2) whether a job applicant and/or taxpayer has standing to sue
under the Establishment Clause of the U.S. and California Constitutions
about a preferential hiring policy as an establishment of religion (i.e., in
effect, “establishing” five preferred faiths); and (3) whether inmates’
freedom of religion and religious discrimination claims under the U.S. and
California Constitutions and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized
Persons Act were sufficiently alleged in their CDCR grievances.
Although no one can predict how the appellate court will rule, there is good
precedent in favor of plaintiffs’ claims, which the appellate court will be
likely to address in its ruling. Briefs for the appeal are due late Fall.
We expect the appeal to take several months. Lady Liberty League will keep
the Pagan community informed as the case proceeds.
CALL TO ACTION:
(1) SEND SUPPORT: Please send support to Patrick McCollum and this Quest
for equal rights for Pagans in your meditations and rituals. Send him and
those working with him strength, protection, and blessings of success.
(2) STAY INFORMED: To stay updated on this and other cases, join the Lady
Liberty League Network, now on Facebook and Twitter (@LadyLibertyLeag).
(3) NETWORK: Please share this update with others. More information:

Forum Finalis
“What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived - for we are all but mortal”
J-L Picard
What once was will soon be no longer. There is - for all things in all ways - a proper place and time. Rome arose
and grew from the 7 hills to a great Republic and later Empire. Artists, musicians and scribes paint and sculpt,
compose and perform, write and publish. Sculptures are found in galleries and museums. Symphonies and
Sonatas are performed in concert. Words of the scribes are found in scrolls, manuscripts and books.
Sometimes the paintings and sculptures are lost, the music misplaced, and the words forgotten. We are all mortal.
Sometimes our works survive us - sometimes they do not.
“Don’t grieve. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few - or the one”
J. T. Kirk.
Changes. Openings. New ddirection’s. New opportunities. New possibilities and potentials.
From where we are we step forward to where we will be. The Mystic Witch Forum is closing.
As the Forum’s Administrator I have seen years of comments and countless subjects and topics.
The Forum has presented everything from “Daily Chatter” to the “Den of Zen” and the “Spirit Garden".
Soon all of that will be gone. All we will have remaining are our memories and reflections.
“People can be very afraid of the future. Welcome to the Undiscovered Country.”
J. T. Kirk
What once was will soon be gone and be only a reflective memory.
Does the infant always remain an infant?
Does the tiny plant seed always remain a seed?
The infant grows, develops and becomes the child, then the adult.
The seeds sprout and the plant pushes up and a flower blossoms.
For Mystic Witch the Forum was - and is - that seed of something greater.
Lesser to Greater - from what was to what what will be.
“Look where you intend to go - not where you are afraid to go.”
Where then do “we” go?
How then do “we” get there?
The Mystic Witch Forum will soon close.
For myself - I am working towards resurrecting my “Spirit Garden” sub-forum elsewhere on the web.
For the visitors and occasional contributors there is - and will be when it returns - Romantha’s.
The main Mystic Witch site is not closing. Articles, poetry, recipe’s and guidance, direction and inspiration will still have a home there.
There is even the not-so-dim and not-so-distant possibility that even “Den of Zen” may find a second life beyond the Forum.
From where “we” are to where “we” need to go.
“Second star on the right - and straight on till morning”
“If our reach does not exceed our grasp - how then do we reach heaven?”
Robert Browning
Let’s see what’s out there.

Chakra Ear-Cuffs website review
It matters little how good a service or product you have if you do not have
a useful, practical and functional means to inform your potential customers or clients
of your service or product. Multiple forms of advertising have been developed over
human history from carved stones in the Greco-Roman era up to the most modern
of communications modes - the Internet. In our modern information & cybernetic age
a website is a new and efficient way to both market and sell your service, product
or product service.
Customer Service. It’s far more than just a friendly face behind the register taking
your money. Your customer or client - for the sake of the growth and development
of your business enterprise - must be treated with great dignity and respect.
Being helpful, assisting the customer’s client’s in their needs are all vital component aspects of good, functional customer service. Good customer service offers clients and customers service as well as services.
Doing business on the Internet all of the customer service requirements require a site that is both easy to find and easy to use.
One such website is: http://www.chakraearcuffs.com.
Not only does this website offer a product of interest, it is also clean and very
easy to navigate. The product is photographed in colour and the photos
are of quite high resolution. The site has several internal ‘click-throughs’
and all work. The site includes information on the developer and designer
of the “Chakra Ear-Cuffs” - Scott Kovarik.
According to the site Scott is an accomplished musician, songwriter
and spiritual guide. The site includes information on wholesaler resellers,
contact information as well as a lifetime repair/replacement warranty.
In this era of products and services that make extravagant claims
with little or no actual product quality it is quite encouraging and
refreshing to find - especially on the Internet - a company and its
website that offers and provides a good product, an easy to
use ordering website and service for the customer/client.
As has been said previously:
“With so many products on the market this is one of the few that Mystic Witch would in fact stand behind and endorse. We have many items and products come our way. Finding so many flaws that we do not review as we do not wish to associate the product with our company. Not so with the Chakra Ear Cuffs.”
I like the product.
I like the website.
I like the services provided by the company. I signed up for the ‘newsletter’
and a ‘free bonus special’. A day later I found in my inbox that newsletter
and the ‘bonus’ - a short article on the Healing Chakra’s.
This is a good company with a good website offering a good product.
I will definitely be doing some business here.
This site’s a keeper….
