Walking Violets
by Sandra Repash
~~~~~
I can walk the walk of a violet
Sing the song of a bird
Talk the talk of the wind
As the awesome force is heard.
I can go with the flow of the river
Melt with the ice in the spring
Hibernate in the winter
With the new life it will bring.
I can shine with the morning sun
Sleep in the shadow of a cloud
Sail across the prairie
Free and wild and proud.
You might think all this glory
Makes me good or kind or wise
By myself, it means so little
It is a gift meant for many eyes.
