Lost by an Elf -
Found by a Rider -
Sought by a Deranged Despot.
It is blue and outwardly resembles a mountain stone.
It is brought home, marveled at, and set aside as a curious novelty.
Set aside till it begins to hatch.
For the young lad Eragon this is no simple, pretty blue stone.
This is a Dragon’s Egg.
This is Saphira.

She is tiny - as once We all were.
She learns, grows and develops.
So too does Eragon.
Concealed in the nearby woods Saphira quickly grows and develops
into a flying, telepathic Blue Dragon.
It is none too soon.
For the Agents of the Despot are coming closer - closing in….

One Boy -
One Dragon -
A World of Adventure.

As written by Christopher Paolini “Eragon” is 497 pages and is the
first in the “Inheritance” trilogy. Published by Alfred A. Knopf
the book was originally published by Paolini International, L.L.C.
in 2002. After a grueling series of 130 ‘homemade’ ‘book tours’ in 2002
in the Northwest, magic {and a new editor} arrived in the form of Michele Frey
from Knopf. Christopher met Michele at Island Books bookstore on Seattle’s
Mercer Island. Christopher’s mother - Talitha - had received an email
from Knopf saying that Frey wished buy the Trilogy for the Knopf Imprint
of Random House’s Children’s Books. This raised a question - how did Michele Frey
even know of “Eragon” and the “Inheritance Trilogy"? Carl Hiaasen had been in the
Northwest with his family on a fly fishing vacation when his stepson Ryan picked up the book and loved it.
He then read it and liked it so much He called his editor at Knopf who passed the book on to Frey.

This is written, published and sold as fiction.
Human fiction.
Since Blue Dragons, young boys who ride them, ‘magic’ and great cities
under giant mountains do not really readily exist in what You Human’s
are so insistent to call the ‘real world’ - what else can this be but ‘fiction’?
Fiction written by a teen-aged Human Scribe.
For that reason alone this book is a magnificent and most amazing find.
As a story young Paolini has conceived a multi-segment adventure that is most readable.
The characters are well developed and defined.
The included map, pronunciation and ancient language guides greatly enhance
the reader’s ability to visualize and understand the countryside realm in which
this adventure transpires.

As the Staff Dragon for MysticWtich.com I rather enjoyed this book.
You Human’s have always been good at telling stories.
I can easily recommend this book - and not just for young readers.
Go Forth - Read - and Enjoy.

As I read yet another book.
I have selected some few books from this Lair’s extensive Cache to
share with You. It’s winter and cold. What else is there to do?
I will read some books and write some reviews.
So what is the next book on the list?
A Dragon’s work is never done….
