“Blessed Silliness”
Written by Staff Dragon: Draconis
A lesson may have been learned.
We Draconis have long known that being frivolous and silly
is healthy not only for the physical body but for the mind and spirit as well.
Recently in the Forum of this MysticWitch.com online journal a question of
propriety of silliness was raised. For you ‘humans’ the question itself may
be silly. I am a Draconis. I know the question is far from silly.
Laughter releases endorphins. Endorphins are a vitally critical neuro-transmitter
in the ‘human’ brain. This is your ‘human’ month of January. It is still a dark
and cold month in many cities and locales in the Northern Hemisphere.
Much has been written, studied and documented concerning what is known
as ‘Winter’s Blues’ or SAD - Seasonal Adaptive Disorder. It is a condition
that has affected ‘humanity’ for multiple eons. Even we Draconis have been known
to experience its symtoms.
As serious as it is it can be dealt with and effectively treated.
Some treatments are medicinal and require the services of one of your ‘human’ healers.
However - there are some simple and quite basic things that can be done that may
not require the services of a healer. Both St. Johns Wort and Seratonin are known to be
effective in treating this disorder. However, as with all herbs and medicinals,
consultation with a qualified herbalist and your ‘human’ healer might be adviseable as
St, Johns Wort does have ’solar-sensitivity’ side-effects.
And even simpler treatment regimen only requires that you get some extra
sunlight. it is the lack anbd abscence of sunlight that some of your ‘human’
researchers think is a partial cause for the disorder.
Then there is “dancing with the harlequin".
Harlequin’s - you may know them better these days as clowns - bring laughter
and amnusement. Clowns are brightly clad in coats of many colours.
So too were the harlequins.
Laugh.
Be silly.
Do something mildy idiotic.
Stop being so tediously serious.
Laugh.
Be Silly.
It’s good for You……
